Someone Has Died - a silly game about serious business

Created by Gather Round Games

Someone Has Died is an improvisational storytelling game that takes one of the coldest and most arduous legal procedures a person can endure and turns it into a gut-busting, baby role-playing game that players of all skill levels can enjoy.

March Update! | Someone Has Died
about 6 years ago – Sun, Mar 04, 2018 at 10:32:47 PM

Happy March!

We have exciting news: we've sent the game to our printer! We still have a few more steps before everything will be ready to be shipped out, but this means we're one step closer to getting copies of Someone Has Died into your hands! You can see us below proofing everything before we sent it off.

We had just enough floor space.

So far, we're on schedule to ship to backers for June. Don't forget to share our pre-order store with your friends so they can get in on the fun! You don't want them to be jealous when you have a copy of Someone Has Died and they don't.

In other news!

We're very closing to nailing down the details for our first convention of 2018. We won't tell you too much yet, but we can give you a hint: it rhymes with Smax Peast. But that's ALL we're saying...

Ok, you got us. It's PAX East! PAX East was the very first convention we brought Someone Has Died to, so we're very excited to return to Boston after a stellar year! The convention takes places from Wednesday, April 5th to Monday, April 8th. Stay tuned for details in our next update of when/where you can find us demoing Someone Has Died or hanging out playing other games!

Hopefully we'll see many of you in Boston, but if you won't be at PAX East, let us know on Facebook or Twitter what conventions you're looking forward to!

Happy New Year (Don't Forget Your Survey!!)
over 6 years ago – Thu, Dec 28, 2017 at 08:52:41 PM

Hello!

Hope you all had -- or are currently having -- a wonderful, relaxing, and food-filled holiday season. As the new year is upon us, we wanted to take the opportunity to reflect on the insane year we've had creating and bringing Someone Has Died into the world.

We just sent out a massive Year in Review newsletter. Click here to see some of our favorite moments from 2017. Number 6 on the list seems especially pertinent to you guys, since you all made it happen!

Don't Forget... Surveys!

About 90% of you have filled out your backer surveys. Bully for you! Give yourself a pat on the back -- you have nothing left to do! To the other 10% of you, please click here to avoid that extra search through your inbox and get another task out of the way before greeting the new year.

See ya in 2018!!! Can't wait to tell you all about what's next!

Big thanks to Kickstarter for letting us hang out in their living room for the weekend!

Wanna help us out? If you're in NYC, you can join our Facebook group and see when we're hosting our next session.

Also! A really awesome person put Someone Has Died on Tabletop Simulator! Someone used our print & play to make a version of Someone Has Died that you can find on the Steam Workshop. We're absolutely thrilled that someone enjoyed our game enough to bring it to Steam, and we're especially thrilled that it's now available for all of you to enjoy! You can find it right here!

That's all we have for now. If you know anyone who missed out on the Kickstarter, be sure to send them to our pre-order store so they can get in on the fun. If you have any questions or concerns, you can send them our way here on Kickstarter or on Facebook or Twitter.

Someone Has Died | Pre-Orders and PAX Unplugged!
over 6 years ago – Thu, Nov 16, 2017 at 09:39:05 PM

Hello!

This is such an exciting update for us. We don't even know where to begin. Oh wait, yeah we do-

Pre-Orders

Pre-orders for Someone Has Died are finally live! Did you somehow miss our crowdfunding campaign? Do you know someone who missed out and is DYING to get a copy? Send them here to pre-order the game! On our pre-order store, you'll find the base game, as well as a limited run of the Dirty Deck Expansion Pack, postcards, and access to the full Print and Play. DO NOT PURCHASE THE PRINT AND PLAY IF YOU SUPPORTED OUR KICKSTARTER. As we mentioned in a previous update, we've decided to supply the print and play to EVERYONE who backed the game. You're welcome.

Surveys

Surveys will be out soon! We're working with Backerkit, a survey tool to make managing your pledge painless.

.
.

With Backerkit, you'll be able to update your address, credit card information, and add items to your order easily. So if you've contacted us about this already - hang tight!

PAX Unplugged

We know people already started having fun at PAX Unplugged without us, but we'll be there during the weekend! You can find us over at the Kickstarter booth (#740) on Saturday and Sunday from 4-5 PM.

.
.

We'll be demoing Someone Has Died alongside a bunch of other rad games, so stop by to play and to try out some new cards! We'll also be around the convention all weekend long, so reach out on Twitter if you're around and wanna say hello!

The BIT Awards

We were nominated by Playcrafting for Tabletop Game of the Year at the 2017 BIT Awards! Huge thanks to Playcrafting for the nomination and for giving us so many chances to showcase our game! There's also a Player's Choice Award that is voted on by YOU, the players. If you enjoyed following along and playing the game this year, consider writing us in here. Straight up --- that would be a really cool award to win. Help us maybe?

Phew. That was a monster of an update so thanks for sticking with us! Feel free to send us any questions or concerns you may have. You can reach us here on Kickstarter or on our Twitter or Facebook.
